Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
Share
What Is the TDAC & Why It Replaces the Old Form
- The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a new electronic entry requirement, replacing the old paper TM6 arrival/disembarkation card as of 1 May 2025.
- It’s not a visa — it is mandatory for all non-Thai nationals entering by air, land, or sea.
- The purpose: streamline immigration checks, improve data accuracy, strengthen border security, and integrate health declarations.
Who Must Complete the TDAC?
- All foreign travellers, regardless of whether you enter on visa-exempt, visa, or visa-on-arrival status.
- Children and infants also need their own TDAC submission.
- Diplomatic passport holders (if non-Thai) must also submit a TDAC.
- Transiting travellers who do not pass through immigration do not need a TDAC.
When & How to Submit the TDAC
✅ Timing & Validity
- You must submit TDAC within 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival date in Thailand.
- You can still submit it on the day of arrival (within those 3 days window).
- Each submission is valid for one entry only. If you depart and re-enter Thailand later, you’ll need a new TDAC.
- The form is free of charge — there should be no fee.
Step-by-Step Guide to Filling TDAC
- Go to the official TDAC website: tdac.immigration.go.th
- Choose “Arrival Card” option (or “Submit TDAC”)
- Enter personal information: name (as in passport), passport number, nationality, date of birth, etc.
- Provide travel details: arrival date, flight/vehicle number, port of entry, and departure date if known.
- Provide accommodation address in Thailand (hotel, guesthouse, street, district, province)
- Fill in the health declaration section: any recent travel history, symptoms, or vaccination, if applicable.
- Review all details carefully before submitting. You may be able to update some fields later (not always every field).
- Submit and download or save the confirmation (PDF or email). Present this at immigration on arrival.
Common Mistakes & How to Avoid Them
Mistake |
What Happens |
Avoidance Tip |
Entering wrong accommodation address or incomplete address |
Immigration may delay processing or request corrections |
Double-check province, district, street name spelling |
Using a non-official TDAC site |
You risk fraud, data exposure or invalid submission |
Only use tdac.immigration.go.th (official)Â |
Missing submission window |
TDAC not accepted, cause delays at border |
Submit early within the 72-hour window |
Thinking TDAC replaces visa |
You still need a valid visa or visa exemption |
TDAC is not a visa |
Forgetting to resubmit on re-entry |
Your previous TDAC is invalid for a second entry |
Always fill a new TDAC for each entry |
Thai Immigration has warned repeatedly about fake TDAC websites that charge fees illegally. Only use the official site and never pay third parties for the form.
What Happens at Immigration: What to Expect
- At the immigration counter, present your passport, visa (if needed), and your TDAC confirmation.
- Immigration officials may scan your QR or check your submitted TDAC details.
- Missing or invalid TDAC can lead to delays — you might be asked to complete a backup paper form or face entry refusal.
- An inspection of health or travel history may follow, especially for travellers from high-risk zones.
- Once cleared, your entry is recorded — your TDAC acts as the digital version of the old arrival card.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
